dc.description.abstract | Smart devices are connected globally due to the Internet and smart technologies. With the increasing network services, network traffic has also increased. The experience of wireless technology can be further improved by utilizing adhoc networks for local optimization. Frequent communication among smart devices generate huge traffic, this challenges us to create an optimal routing protocol. To achieve local optimization, we related the network of smart devices in a local area with Opportunistic Mobile Network (OMN). OMNs facilitates communication in mobile ad-hoc networks by personifying them with the human networks like social network. OMNs lack in connectivity due to frequently changing topology. We suggest the use of mobility of smart devices to improve the network traffic. We proposed a movement aware routing protocol called as Wonder Node Routing (WNR) protocol. WNR selects highly mobile node among all existing connections to deliver the message. In order to measure the mobility of the node, we exploited the GPS facility provided by smart phones. As a result, WNR provided reduction is network traffic by reducing message relays and number of hops during message transmission. | en_US |
