Abstract: In this paper, we simulate the polarization dependent metamaterial absorber (MMA) based on split ring-dish (SRD) structure. The results have been compared with dish (D) and ring-dish (RD) based structure in THz range. The dish based MMA structure demonstrates the perfect absorption at 5.4 THz, whereas ring-dish based MMA exhibits two peaks at 2.7 and 5.6 THz. Further, by splitting the ring (named as split ring-dish), absorption peak at 2.7 THz is shifted to 4.2 THz. The surface current and electric field distribution have been measured to provide further understanding of absorptivity. The resonating frequency of the SRD-MMA has been tuned with change in incident and polarization angle.
