Abstract: The advancement of wireless cellular networks in terms of networking devices and mobile subscribers, have led the operators towards the development of communication system with greater capacity. Antenna tilt is one of the most influential techniques to improve the performance of cellular networks. In this paper, we have considered fractional frequency reuse (FFR) and soft frequency reuse (SFR) aided cellular network, and analyse the impact of antenna tilt on the coverage probability and average rate. It is observed that at an appropriate antenna tilt improves the coverage probability and average rate for both the FFR and SFR systems. Moreover, it is observed that, impact of antenna tilt is more on the performance of SFR system as compared to that of FFR system.
