Abstract: With the help of experimental data in low density polyethylene (LDPE), obtained from pulsed electro-acoustic method, a significant amount of concentration gradient can be seen. However, different simulation models of homocharge accumulation present in the literature, considers only the drift phenomenon of charge carriers while neglecting the diffusion. These models envisage the homocharge formation with limited accuracy. With the help of recently published analytical equations of space charge and electric field, the individual role of conduction of charges in bulk, diffusion of charge carriers and injection from the electrodes are delineated.
