Abstract:
The raw images obtained in infrared Non-destructive Testing (NDT) should be processed by image processing techniques to
improve the data usefulness. In this study, we attempted image fusions techniques to enhance the defect detection capability in
glass fiber reinforced composite (GFRP) sample with 25 squared Teflon inserts of various sizes and located at different depths
were investigated by means of frequency modulated thermal wave imaging. . Present work highlights application of image fusion
based approaches for the defect detection using frequency modulated thermal excitation scheme and comparison has been made
on these proposed schemes with respect to SNR improvements at each defect.
