Abstract:
Load shedding of a vast area or increasing generation are some standard practices for the utilities to avoid
generation-demand mismatch. But, with demand response management (DRM), end-users change their familiar usage pattern to
reduce this mismatch. In this paper, a light-weight smart demand
response management scheme is proposed for direct load control
in a residential grid. This scheme is verified with Simulation
and then deployed on a test-bed. In this algorithm, priorities
for every house and their appliances are assumed to be static.
Arduino Mega (Microcontroller) is used as decision-making unit
(DMU) for this test-bed, and it is programmed using MATLAB.
