dc.description.abstract Resolution is very important factor for measurements of space charge in dielectric materials. Various methods like pulsed-electroacoustic method, pulse propagation method, laser induced pressure propagation method are in vogue for measurement of space charges. Among these methods the pulsed electro-acoustic method is widely used for space charge measurement due to several advantages. Although definition of resolution for charge measurement has been proposed in the literature, there is some sort of confusion in research community as to how exactly the resolution of measurements can be estimated. The dependence of resolution on noise is well known in signal processing literature, but it seems to have been ignored in space charge literature. In this paper the authors have presented the effect of sensor width and effect of de-convolution on the resolution of raw signal as well as restored signal of PEA system. en_US
