dc.description.abstract Abstract The preconcentration of trace organic pollutants with low concentration in environmental water samples can be utilized as a significant approach to increase the sensitivity and accuracy of the particular detection system. Various nano-composite materials based on silver nanoparticles have proven potential for environment monitoring applications as they have cost-effectiveness and the highest quality factor in plasmonic ability in the spectrum from 300 to 1200 nm. In this context, herein, a short dipeptide was synthesized and thoroughly characterized by spectroscopic tools such as 1H, 13 C NMR, FTIR, and ES-Mass spectrometry. Further, its organic nanoparticles (ONPs) were fabricated, and their nanocomposite with silver nanoparticles was prepared and validated by TEM, DLS, and UV-Visible spectroscopy. The developed ANS-H1 nanocomposite demonstrated selective colorimetric sensing of neomycin in water with a limit of detection of 70 pM. Further, the developed nanocomposite formed water-insoluble complexation with neomycin which constituted a rapid preconcentration step that may enhance sensing performance and brings the limit of detection (LOD) down to 23 pM. Thus, the present strategy for the selective detection of the trace organic pollutant neomycin possesses great potential for robust water quality for environment monitoring. en_US
